ShrinkWrap 2.1 is a disk image mounting and creation program for the
Macintosh. This was the last free for non-commercial use ShrinkWrap
version before it was bought up by Aladdin Systems (see [ShrinkWrap
3.5x][1] page).

ShrinkWrap 2.1 can run under Mac SSW 7.0 or later and on Macs with a
68000 CPU or greater. It is suitable for use with the Mini vMac
emulator and also provides a means for mounting 1.4 MB (or greater)
disk image files onto a Mac Plus or SE with only 800k floppy disk
controllers.
The download has been compressed with StuffIt 3.6 for maximum
compatibility with most Macintoshes and emulators including Mini vMac.
It has also been checked clean for viruses with Disinfectant 3.7.1.
> * ShrinkWrap was created for four basic purposes:
>
> 1. To create disk image files quickly and efficiently:
> * To create disk image files using ShrinkWrap, just drag and
> drop your disk icons...
> 2. To provide a convenient and reliable means of mounting disk
> image files on the desktop:
> * Like Apple's MountImage control panel, ShrinkWrap will
> mount image files on the desktop...
> 3. To seamlessly handle disk image files in their archived form:
> * ShrinkWrap will automatically compress and decompress
> archived disk image files on the fly...
> 4. To provide a freely distributable alternative to Apple's
> DiskCopy, DART, Disk Image Mounter and MountImage:
> * DART, Disk Image Mounter and MountImage cannot yet legally
> be licensed for redistribution...

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
ShrinkWrap 2.1 is compatible with a Macintosh 68000 CPU and later, SSW
7.0 and newer.
ShrinkWrap 2.1 does not support HFS+
I do not recommended its use on drives that are HFS+ formatted.
Workaround: Using Disk Copy 6.3; Create a large HFS formatted image
file as a "Read/Write" volume. Mount the image with DC and then
manipulate files, saving to & from within the mounted HFS image using
SW 2.1.
ShrinkWrap 2.1 does not support Apple Disk Copy 6.1.x NDIF disk image
format.
If you need to mount/create HFS+ or Apple Disk Copy 6.1.x disk images,
it is preferable to use Apple's Disk Copy 6.3.3 or Aladdin's
[ShrinkWrap 3.5.x][1] on those drive/file types.
ShrinkWrap 2.1 is ideally suited to batch mounting disk image files
(Disk Copy 4.2) on Macintosh 68000 (Plus/SE etc) or Macintosh 68020
(Mac II) hardware, or on Mini vMac, on which, the newer Aladdin's
3.5.x versions of ShrinkWrap will not run.
According to the Disk Copy 6.1.2 User's Guide ([PDF, located on this
Garden page][11]); "ShrinkWrap (versions 2.1 and earlier) floppy
format is nearly identical to Disk Copy 4.2 format".
