Found on [Info-Mac IV][1]. This bare-bones app written in C creates
StuffIt 1.5.1 archives, which are readable by official StuffIt.
Includes:
\- a build of the app (named simply ?stuff?), which is a fat binary
\- C source code
\- project files for Think C and CodeWarrior
\- resource files
Usage consists of dropping an item onto the application. It will begin
creating the archive file alongside the item, so the item's containing
folder must be unlocked and on a writable volume. Otherwise, you will
get an error (I got -44 for trying to drop something on it while it
was still on the CD). To cancel an archiving operation, simply quit
the app. (Note that the archive being created is left existing,
presumably in an incomplete/corrupt state.)
Everything is from 1994, and the CodeWarrior project(s) were created
with IDE 1.7.x, so you should try Gold 10 (NOT "Pro 10", but the much
much older one) which included that version. They will need to be
converted for anything newer.
Inside each of the resource files and the application is a 'ST??'
resource that says ?Copyright Jonathan RR Kimmitt and others?.
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
It's from 1994, but runs on Mac OS 9.0.4 without incident.
