Rosetta Stone
This is the standalone application(s) for Rosetta Stone v2 and will
require a v6 [language disc][1] to be used along side.
In 2005, Fairfield Language Technologies released their last version
of Rosetta Stone for Mac OS 9 before changing the company name to
Rosetta Stone. These CD releases can be identified by the blue globe
in the logo. The language CD jewel case inserts are white with a pale
yellow stripe across the middle.
In 2006, a new version of the Rosetta Stone application was released
and distributed as version 2. The Box and CD Jewel cases were updated
with a Blue 'Stone' as the icon and striking Yellow background, and in
the process sadly this dropped support for OS 9. The new release only
runs on OS X (and Windows), and would mark Rosetta Stone's transition
to version 3 of their software.

Versions prior to 2.2.x are released under Fairfield Language
Technologies.
v2.1.5.3A Sees support for Classic Mac OS dropped with only a Mac OS X
release included on the disc. This seems to be the last Fairfield
company branded release.
v2.2.0.0A is the first version under the new Rosetta Stone company
branding. The disc cover and logo changed.
If you want to use Rosetta Stone on Classic OS Download #1 - v2.1.4.1A
is what you're looking for.
Compatible language discs can be found on the [Rosetta Stone v6
(Language Disc)][1] page.
Compatibility
Architecture: PPC PPC (Carbonized) x86 (Windows)
Language discs that are sold as 'v6.x' are backward compatible with OS
9, even though some of the later language discs may have a folder
called 'V3' on the disc or have the newer blue stone logo using v2.2.x
of the application.
