Quill is an application (also a Desk Accessory) which is useful for
retrieving the text and images from many types of files.
Note: According to the documentation, Apple later released a developer
application also called "Quill" - this is not that application.
Use Quill to display (with text and pictures) documents created by:
* Text editors (such as QUED, Edit, TeachText etc.)
* MacWrite
* MacWrite II
* Word 1.xx, 3.xx, 4.0 & 5.0 (even in 'fast save' format!)
* Microsoft Write
* WriteNow 1.xx, 2.xx & 3.0
* Nisus (No pictures, sorry!)
* WordPerfect 2.x
* DocViewer
* DocMaker & InfoMaker
* PICT Format Documents
* PICT's in the resource fork
Quill can also be used to "force" open any file as though it was plain
text, enabling you to extract text from many other types of file
(there will also of course be a lot of extra garbage).
Quill is not a word processor. You cannot edit the text or images,
only print or copy them. It can also save files as a plain text file.
The application is on a DiskCopy 4.2 disk image (1.44MB) in a StuffIt
3.5 archive.
