What is PodWorks?
PodWorks is an application that helps you use your iPod to synchronize
your music collection between computers by allowing you to copy songs
from your iPod to your Mac. Its features include:
? Drag-and-drop song copying from any Mac iPod to your computer.
? Direct copy of songs (including metadata) and playlists to iTunes.
? Preference settings for file renaming and copies into directory
hierarchies to help keep your music library organized.
? Near-instantaneous reads of even very large iPod song lists
(compiled from the iPod's internal database rather than by "scanning"
file-by-file as other iPod copy utilities do).
? Support for playlists (including single-drag copying of entire
playlists).
? Support for On-The-Go playlists (very handy for people who don't
want to use the automatic syncing in iTunes but still want to save
their playlists).
? Support for nearly all iTunes "metadata" columns (including Date
Added, Play Count, & Genre).
? Support for multiple simultaneous iPods.
? Optimized, fully multithreaded copy routines for superior
performance.
What are the system requirements for PodWorks?
PodWorks runs only on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and above (including
Panther). Additionally, PodWorks is not currently recommended for use
on Blue & White (Yosemite) Power Mac G3s.
How do I install PodWorks?
Once you have downloaded PodWorks and mounted the disk image
distribution, simply drag the icon labeled "PodWorks" to your Mac's
Application's folder.
Before you can successfully use PodWorks, you will also need to ensure
that your iPod is configured to operate in FireWire disk mode. For
more information on this, click on "PodWorks Help" under the "Help"
menu in PodWorks.
Compatibility
Architecture: PPC
Unless activated, PodWorks is limited to:
? 30 day time limit.
? 250 song copy limit.
? Songs must be copied one at a time.
? Single-drag copying of playlists is disabled.
