Open Transport provides the classic Mac OS with a modern TCP/IP
implementation. It replaced [MacTCP][1].
* DL #1: Open Transport version 1.1.1 - This archive contains the
full install set of Open Transport v1.1.1 as original 1.4MB Disk
Copy 4.2, floppy disk images. Also contained in the archive is
"[Open Transport PPP 1.0][2]", as an optional install set
(required only for dial-up phone modems).
* DL #2: Open Transport version 1.1.2 Net Install (A .sea file
inside a .bin)
* DL #3: Open Transport version 1.1.2. This seems to be a version of
the Net install that does not work. It claims it can't find Disk
1.
* DL #4: Open Transport version 1.1.1 in Italian. The .sit archive
contains the folders for a direct install without mounting
floppies.
Open Transport v1.1.1 supports PCI bus, NuBus, communications slot,
and PC Card network interface cards, as well as built-in LocalTalk,
Ethernet, and Token Ring network adapters. For computers without
expansion options, Open Transport 1.1.1 also supports a SCSI-attached
network adapter. Third party network interface options available for
Open Transport include Fast Ethernet, ATM, and FDDI.

* Minimum System requirements:
* Open Transport v1.1.1 requires a Mac OS-compatible computer with a Motorola 68030 or 68040 CPU, or a PowerPC 601, 603(e), or 604 CPU.
* A minimum of 5 MB of RAM (68030 or 68040 computers) or 8 MB of RAM (PowerPC-based computers).
It was recommended by Apple that you should use system software
version 7.5.3, 7.5.5 or later with Open Transport, although they
stated that earlier system software versions 7.1, 7.1.1 and 7.1.2
releases are also compatible.
Open Transport v1.1.1 is installed by default with Mac OS 7.6
The v1.1.1 install set in this archive is not required if you have
installed Mac OS 7.6, or later versions of the Macintosh OS.
