The Mulberry email client was marketed by Cyrusoft from approximately
1995 to 2005. By late 2005, Cyrusoft International/ISAMET declared
bankruptcy and went out of business. In August 2006 the original
author, Cyrus Daboo, acquired the rights to the source code. Mulberry
was then made a free software, and by 2007, Open Sourced.

> Mulberry started off life as a software project that was really
> meant to help the author learn more about the internet and internet
> protocols used for email. However, it became much more than that and
> garnered support from a small (in internet terms) group of users and
> institutions many of whom relied on the product as their primary
> email tool.
>
> Whilst it started as only an IMAP client and only on Mac OS, it has
> grown to cover not only other email protocols, but also calendaring
> and scheduling and is available on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux
> systems [ ]
>
> Now Mulberry itself is free, though its future is still cloudy in
> terms of whether development will advance or not...

   * Mulberry v2.1 (FAT & Carbon) runs native on either 68k Mac or PPC, Mac OS's 7.1 to Mac OS X 10.1x
This version may require the "[Appearance Manager][3]" if running in
systems earlier than Mac OS 8.0

Both require [a free registration code][4] to activate (or see pic #4,
above).

   * Mulberry v4.0.5 and v4.0.6 are native PPC Mac OS X. Freeware, requiring no registration to use (only versions before 4.0.5, did).

I've successfully used Mulberry v2.0.8 in Basilisk II running Mac SSW
7.1.1 and Mulberry v2.1 in Mac OS 7.6.1

The development of Mulberry appears to have stalled, the final stable
released version is still at v4.0.8 (2007).
Perhaps this page can help to draw some attention towards that
project.
