> Short for multicast backbone, the MBone is a subset of the
> Internet, a part of the network joined by routers which understand
> the multicast extensions to the Internet Protocol (IP). "Being on
> the MBone" generally means being connected, in some fashion, to this
> particular group of Internet-wide (meaning world-wide) multicast
> routers. The MBone is used to transmit audio data, video data, and
> shared whiteboard information. Several applications (typically Unix-
> based), known as MBone tools, speak IP multicast and are designed to
> communicate with each other over the MBone

DL #1 Mbone v1.0a5
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
1. Run the Open Transport 1.1 installer. Do an "Easy Install." If it won't let you, choose "Custom Install" and install either regular OT or 68K OT only. (OT should work fine on 7.5 and 7.5.1, but due to the nightmare of testing against all such systems, OT was only qualified against 7.1, 7.1.2, and 7.5.3.)
2. Install QuickTime Conferencing 1.0.4 or 1.1. Do an "Easy Install." This will force you to reboot.
3. Run the MBone Installer to install the MBone components. This will force you to reboot, yet again (sorry!)
