Illustrator, eat your heart out! Excellent DTP vector drawing
illustration software for the Macintosh.

This is the last non-Carbon PowerPC version of Macromedia FreeHand,
though a Mac OS X ready Carbon version existed for demos as early as
FreeHand 8's announcement at [Seybold][1].

Macromedia FreeHand 9 allows for easier export of files in Flash 4
format for use on the Web, integrated HTML publishing features, a new
Perspective Grid view for creating 3D scenes and better visual
management of multipage documents. This app was also sold in a bundle
with Flash 4 and as part of a "Web Design Studio" with Flash,
Dreamweaver and Fireworks.

[Top DL]: is a full toast installation image, compressed in StuffIt 5.x format. Includes serials. Be sure to have some space available: the file will expand to 430MB. If you mount it with Toast it will mount two ISOs; just ignore the one that looks like a PC CD.

[2nd DL]: Full Install CD of FreeHand 9.0, a .zip compressed .iso image file. Same as above, in HFS format only.
If on a classic Mac OS, unzip using [MacZip][2] then mount the
extracted image with [Virtual CD/DVD Utility][3].

[3rd DL]: Full Install CD of FreeHand 9.0.1 as a Disk Copy 6 NDIF image, compressed in StuffIt 5.5 format. From the Macromedia Web Design Studio suite.

In Classic mode under Mac OS X (10.0 through 10.4 PPC), highlight the
FreeHand 9 app icon in Finder, go to "File > Get Info" to open the
Info panel for FreeHand 9, and check "Open in the Classic
Environment". Otherwise, FreeHand 9 will attempt to open as a Carbon
Mac OS X app and crash with a shared library error.
