This is the widely-redistributed beta version of the ill-fated
MacBASIC from 1985. Microsoft bought the rights to it and discontinued
it prior to release. Despite never passing the beta stage, Dartmouth
University used it in an introductory programming course, and 2 books
on the program were published that sold well for several years.
Interest eventually died, however, because MacBASIC is not 32-bit
clean.
