MacAtlas (as well as its PC-counterpart, AtlasPC) is a clip-art
collection of basic maps focusing on the United States, as well as
world countries and continents. At least three editions were released
for the Macintosh, each in varying file formats, and covering broadly
similar material: "Paint" (MacPaint format), "EPSF" (Post-Script and
Encapsulated Post Script File format), and "Draw" (MacDraw format).
DL#1: MacAtlas EPSF Edition (1989) - contains 4, 800k DiskCopy 4.2
disk images, compressed with StuffIt 1.5.1, and encoded as BinHex 4.0.
DL#2: MacAtlas Paint Edition (1986) - contains 4, 400k DiskCopy 4.2
disk images, compressed with StuffIt 1.5.1, and encoded as BinHex 4.0.
The "Draw" edition is notable for allowing the user to un-group
territories from each other, allowing more fine-grained control and
manipulation, in addition to being scalable vector graphics.
