These items are non-release development builds of Mac OS 8.1, code-
named; "Bride of Buster".

Different Mac OS development build versions are distinguished by a
unique "S" word replacement of the standard Macintosh "Special" menu
name, e.g.; "Steve" represents the development build; Mac OS 8.1b2c2.

DL #1: 8.0.1d5c3. "Shangrila".

DL #2: 8.1a4. "Sumptuous". Updater install set (updates over Mac OS
8.0). HFS+ is at alpha, drives formatted as HFS+ will only be usable
in this build and no other... You have been warned.

DL #3: 8.1a4. "Sumptuous". Full Install set. HFS+ is as above, only
usable in this build and no other.

DL #4: 8.1b2c2. "Steve". Updater install set (updates over Mac OS
8.0). HFS+ is at beta, drives formatted as HFS+ will only be usable in
this build and no other.

DL #5: 8.1b3. Japanese beta build.

DL #6: 8.1b4. "Salute". Full beta installer set, including option to
update over Mac OS 8.0. HFS+ has gone GM (Gold Master). Drives
formatted as HFS+ are now compatible with Mac OSs 8.1 and later with
this build.

DL #7: 8.1b5: Full beta installer set, including option to update over
Mac OS 8.0. This build sees the return of the Macintosh "Special" menu
name, as found in released versions. Which indicates that this beta
Mac OS version is near to going GM and becoming a publicly released
version.

DL #8: 8.1b6c1 Update.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC

Suitable for any Mac OS 8.0 capable 68040 (inc 68LC040) Macintosh or
PPC Macintosh produced before the official Mac OS 8.1 release (pre
1998 Macs). Emulators Basilisk II and SheepShaver (with Old World ROM)
are also OK.
