LiveCode is arguably the most popular and active successor/clone of
HyperCard, followed by SuperCard.
LiveCode is cross-platform for Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and Windows.
PPC support was completely dropped in 2014, but earlier versions do
support it. All the files contained here were always freely
distributed.
The following files correspond to the Community Edition, Commercial
Edition, Community Server, Release Notes and Source Code of the
following versions:
Download #1 contains v6.5.2, the latest version compatible with Mac OS
X 10.4 Tiger.
Download #2 contains v6.6.5, the latest version compatible with Mac OS
X 10.5 Leopard, in terms of release date (21 October 2014) and among
releases marked as "STABLE".
Download #3 contains v6.7.0 Developer Preview 1, the latest version
compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, in terms of version number,
even though it came out nearly half a year (24 March 2014) before the
stable release of v6.6.5.
There's also download #4, which contains source code for versions
6.5.3, 6.6.6 and 6.7.6, with the first two expected to be Tiger and
Leopard compatible, respectively, and having never been released.
Version 6.7.6 is the latest version which still mentioned, at least in
the source code ReadMe, that Tiger or PPC are supported (if you
compile it with the right tools & options), so it has been included
for good measure.
The manual is a user guide from 2010. It even describes how to
deploy/target apps for Mac OS 9.2.2, as long as the source code is
compatible with LiveCode 2.6.1 (which never existed: what they meant
is [RunTime Revolution 2.6.1][1]).
