For those wanting to run Windows on older Intel Macs, a LOT of
Bootcamp drivers no longer work (having been designed to install with
XP or Vista). Sound in particular really just doesn't seem to work
anymore. The drivers say they are installed and working properly, but
it tends to be in a U.S. Congregational way of being productive, where
nobody outside of the group gets any benefit.
* The first download is for the now-REALLY-hard-to-find drivers for
Realtek High Definition Audio chipsets. Have had this work in most
cases, where AMD-graphics are not also handling sound.
* The second download is for a great little applet that lives in the
taskbar tray, by the clock, that lets you right-click on it and open
and close optical disc drives (for those who are still into that kind
of thing ;0). It has two parts, a registry notation that has to be
click-installed first and the app itself that you can just place into
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
