The Internet Configuration System was designed to make your life
easier by reducing the number of times which you need to enter your
Internet preferences into the various preferences dialogs of all your
Internet applications.
Some apps, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape, may come bundled
with this software.
DL 1 is v2.0.2
DL 2 is v1.4
DL 3 is v1.3
DL 4 is v1.2
DL 5 is v2.0J
DL 6 is v1.4J
DL 7 is an SDK for Internet Config, sourced from the Classilla
author's site [www.floodgap.com][1], the original provenance is
unknown or lost to history. It may be possible to find other versions
of this, but not easily, so I am including it here.
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
Version 2.0.2 requires "Component Manager"; Component Manager is built
into System 7.1 and later. Alternatively, the user may instead install
QuickTime, which also contains an implementation of Component Manager.
(N.B.: QuickTime itself requires at least a 68020 processor or better.
If you are using a 68000 machine and wish to use v2.0.2, you will need
to update to System 7.1 or later.)
Version 1.4 and earlier: Per the included documentation, Internet
Config v1.4 (or earlier) can be used with System 6, though not all
functions will be completely operable. Version 1.4 was the last
official version that was compatible with System 6. For users running
System 6.0.x or System 7.0.x on a 68000 machine, they should use v1.4
or earlier.
Starting with Mac OS 8.5, "Internet Config" was incorporated into the
Internet control panel, which should be used instead to modify these
settings.
