HyperCard 2.2 from 1993. The first version with [colors, as an
optional XCMD!][1]

HyperCard comes back to Apple from a near-death experience as a mis-
marketed Claris product, boasting a small handful of desirable
updates.

[HyperCard Player][2] no more! Unless you really want it. HyperCard
2.2 introduces the ability to save stacks as standalone applications.
As seen with [Myst on CD-ROM][3] and as did [Director][4] with its
Projectors.

With HyperTalk being a major influence on [AppleScript][5], it was a
matter of time before worlds merged together. HyperCard 2.2 features a
comprehensive Apple Events dictionary for AppleScripting between
HyperCard and other applications, plus a number of GUI tweaks to help
HyperCard stacks look and feel more Macintosh HIG compliant.

HyperCard supports QuickTime through a new Movie XCMD and MovieInfo
XFCN. Use a utility stack to set up the XCMD in your existing stack
and enjoy postage stamp sized, possibly black and white movie playback
on your Mac!

Finally, for localization and the ability to speak in multiple
languages, HyperCard 2.2 introduced support for WorldScript. Don't
worry about forcing your users to install a heavyweight Mac OS
language kit to read your content. Just point them to the WorldScript
extensions and they should be a-ok.

 * DL #2: HyperCard version 2.2.1 -pre-installed but unused copy,
sourced from ARPL CD, complete - minus the 3rd party Addmotion II
   software.

 * DL #3: is an image of the extra disk included in the Italian
package, providing localized version of the program and the Home
   stack.

 * DL #4: is a full set of ShrinkWrap images for the British version
of HyperCard 2.2, including AddMotion II.

If you have the elusive HyperCard 2.2.5, please kindly upload it to
this page. It is the first PPC-native version, and the only PPC-
exclusive version, potentially useful for software such as [Blah
Blob!][6]. Thank you.
