Not to be confused with [VMware Fusion.][1]
FusionPC was Microcode Solutions 68k emulator for DOS and Windows 98
or lower.
Fusion can handle many Mac devices like SCSI scanners and drives.
Also many modems or other serial hardware was supported, the PC floppy
drive is used for Mac HFS floppies automatically - albeit only HD
floppies can be used due to hardware limitations.
[Release history of FusionPC][2]
Later on there was a PPC emulator of the iMac called iFusion for the
Commodore Amiga with PPC card available ([link][3]).
There were plans to port iFusion to the Windows platform ([link][4])
but before it surfaced, the sourcecode of FusionPC and iFusion was
sold to Emulators, Inc. ([link][5]). Fusion 3.0 was released in June
2006 by Emulators, Inc. before its technology was merged with
Emulator's SoftMac 2000 software product ([link][6]).
First DL:
The Fusion app.
Second DL:
Bootable OS8 System on a 240MB disk image. Fusion has to be set to
Quadra(700).
Third DL:
Bootable OS7.6 System on a 240MB disk image. Fusion has to set to
Mac_IIcx.
Fourth DL:
Bootable OS7.1 System on a 240MB disk image. Fusion has to set to
Mac_IIcx or another 7.1 compatible Mac.
Fifth DL:
Fusion 1.2 Demo, ready with ROM and OS 7.5.3.
The self expanding fusdem12.exe is added as zip file for reference.
Sixth DL:
A Fusion instance wrapped into Virtual Box, see also
[MacGarden/Forum/Virtual Box / DOS expert wanted.][7]
Fusion 1.2 Demo will only run from a real DOS environment - no Windows
DOS box.
The demo is limited to one hardfile of 100MB maximum and a 640x480 Mac
screen.
Hopefully someone is able to add the full versions of Fusion 1.X from
a private archive.
Obviously a ROM from a matching 68k Mac is needed to run the emulator.
If you did not dump your own ROM already try these from RedundantRobot
meanwhile:

Compatibility
Minimum Requirements:
66Mhz 80486 CPU
8 megs of memory
20 megs of hard drive space
Macintosh System 7.0.1 software
1.44MB floppy drive
512K Macintosh ROM
Recommended Optimal Configuration:
133Mhz+ Intel Pentium Processor CPU
32megs of memory
250 megs of hard drive space
PCI video card w/3D acceleration
Macintosh System 8.0 software
12x CD-ROM drive
1.44MB floppy drive
1MB Macintosh ROM
Fusion probably was the most compatible Mac emulator for the PC,
especially for early OS7 games with 256 colors.
Fusion works in DOSBox on many recent X86 rigs with the limitations of
an emulator inside an emulator.
To get the best out of Fusion, a Pentium III or P4 oldie with
Soundblaster compatibility and ASPI compatible SCSI HBA is preferable.
WIN98SE on a pATA HDD may be the easiest host OS to set up.
