out and buy a software package such as "The Financial Cookbook". It
offers a wide array of "what-if" formulas, such as

* Energy Saving Devices
And several more. You just fill in the blanks and will find out about
e.g. the monthly payments on a mortgage if the interest reate goes up
or down.
1st download is a disk image of the application with copy protection
disabled. It's confirmed to work in Mini vMac, the Macintosh Plus
edition.
2nd download is a disk image in Disk Copy 4.2 format. Copy protection
prevents it from running.
3rd download is a flux-based disk image (A2R) captured with an
Applesauce FDC. Its contents can be viewed using the Applesauce client
software.
4th download is the A2R flux image converted into WOZ format, suitable
for writing back to another floppy disk with a 3.5" drive connected to
an Applesauce FDC. This results in functional software, confirmed with
a Macintosh Plus.
