This animated-eyes app has the distinction of having been included in
the 1990 book-and-disk collection known as [Stupid Mac Tricks][1].
Among the many generic animated-eyes apps made during the System 6
era, this one has some unusual features: the placement of the eyes can
be changed by clicking and dragging the left eye, the size and shape
of the eyes can be changed by clicking and dragging the right eye, and
multiple pairs of eyes can be generated at the same time (within the
limits of the program's memory). Not only that, but individual pairs
of eyes can be removed (by selecting and Close-ing them).
The only other animated-eyes app that comes close to this feature set
is [Eyes^3][2]. (But with Eyes^3, the shape of the eyes can't be
changed.)
However, unlike some of the more-sophisticated animated-eyes apps,
this one doesn't remember the previous configuration.
Also, in System 6 (or older OSs), the eyes can only be viewed by
themselves. In other words, they can't continue to function in the
background. That feature requires System 7's MultiFinder.
The following is a (probably incomplete) list of all of the Macintosh
Garden animated-eyes apps:

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k
In System 6.0.8 (using Mini vMac II), I was able to open at least 117
pairs of eyes (and completely fill the desktop) without the program
crashing.
In System 7.0.1, the program crashed at about 61 pairs of eyes.
In System 7.1.1, the program crashed at about 66 pairs of eyes.
In System 7.5.5 (using Basilisk II), the program crashed at about 60
pairs of eyes.
In MacOS 8.6 (using SheepShaver), the program crashed at about 145
pairs of eyes.
