> Innovative Data Design (IDD) Inc. plans to ship in November a mid-
> level color CAD program intended for both engineers and graphic
> design professionals.
>
> The program, called Dreams, incorporates object-oriented shape
> tools, which can be accessed from floating palettes that are always
> active, the company said. The program supports drawing sizes of up 8
> square feet, with easy access to all parts of the document.
>
> Pop-up menus include options for configuring tools. "We only present
> the appropriate choices," said IID president Paul King. The
> program's available palettes include draft, accessory, and
> dimension.
>
> Dreams' range of tools includes support for Bezier curves, spline
> curves, parallel lines, and fast rotating and dimensioning. The
> program supports zooming and has a magnification of up to 32 users.
>
> Users can access up to 256 colors per drawing and create their own
> colors and palettes. The program also supports gray-scale output.
>
> "For all design-related markets, Dreams offers a powerful drawing
> environment that lets designers concentrate more on design and less
> on mechanics," said King.

Dreams is essentially a deluxe version of MacDraft. The Dreams brand
was abandoned fairly quickly and IDD kept the much better known
MacDraft line.

Download #1: DC 4.2 images of Dreams installer disks. Note: Dreams
installer requires write access to original disks to install so you
cannot install Dreams from these DC 4.2 read-only images. You will
need to write the images to actual disks, convert the disk images to
DC 6.x read/write format or use download #2.
Download #2: Pre-installed and personalized copy of Dreams application
for easy use on emulators. All the rest of the files from the disks in
download #1 will work. This just lets you bypass the installer.
Download #3: IDD Symbol Library Volume 1, Residential Construction.
Two disk set. It is unclear if any other symbol libraries were ever
released for Dreams.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

Very buggy under System 7.5.5. Recommend System 6.0.8 for best
stability, although Dreams was always buggy.
