This program does one simple thing. It updates your Macintosh clock
when Daylight
Savings Time begins and ends. This is a must have for those supporting
large
numbers of Macintosh Computers or for anyone who doesn't want to think
about changing the time when Daylight Savings Time begins or end.
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
A couple of notes:
1\. You must make sure that you have set your Time Zone in the Date &
Time
control panel. The offset will be updated correctly by
DayLightSavingsTime
but will not be correct if you have not set your time zone.
2\. I have tested this on a variety of Macs from SE/30's to PowerMac
7200's
running everything from System 7.1 to 7.6 and have not had any
problems. If you do have problems please send a description of them
and
the machine and system they occured on to [
[email protected]][1] (link has not been tested).
3\. This program is designed to have an alias in the Startup Items
folder so
that it launches each day automatically. If the computer is not
started on the
day the time changes, it will check for up to 30 days from the last
date the
program ran, up to the current date, to see if the time had changed.
If so, it will
update it. This solves the problem of the computer not being used on
the
day of the change.
Not necessary with Mac OS 8.5 or later.
