It's been called "the best Dashboard Widget ever" and "the only
Dashboard Widget you'll ever need" (mild sarcasm). This Widget
completely shuts down the whole Dashboard system in one mouseclick
(from within the Dashboard). You know it's working because there'll be
no closing animation and every widget will need to reload the next
time Dashboard launches (you can also watch what happens in Activity
Monitor).

This is done to optimize the computing system whenever Dashboard isn't
being used. To exit the dashboard UI without killing it, just click in
the background away from this and any widgets.

dL 2: two small PowerPC apps or applets which Lockout & Unlock the
Dashboard. My preference is have Dashboard in my Dock, Lockout when
not in use (I'm a gamer), and I use the Dock icon of Dashboard like a
"profiler", to once in a while be sure *nothing happens* when I click
it. These apps briefly flicker a small white window and then need a
couple of seconds to take effect. They were made using "Scriptlet",
works in Rosetta emulation on intel Macs. Dashboard won't ever be
Locked and running, if you find it Locked it's also always unloaded.
