This is version 4.0 of Virtual PC. It's updates the components of
earlier versions, with better support for Windows ME, NT4, 2000,
partial XP compatibility and several bug fixes. Now faster, it can run
up to 12 virtual machines at a time and introduces dynamic expansion
of hard drive images.

 1. The first download link above (16.11 MB), is an ".iso" image of Virtual PC 4.0. An upgrade issue. It doesn't include any hard disk files, it requires valid copy of Virtual PC 3.0 to install. You can make the hard disk image and install or upgrade to Windows 95/98/NT4/2000/ME if you want and for full functionality, install the additions. You can also install the OS/2 Warp, Red Hat Linux, Windows 3.1, and more operating systems without additions.

 2. The second download link above (21.36 MB), is a ".toast" image of Virtual PC 4.0 with PC-DOS 2000 hard disk files, compressed with zip.

 3. The third download link above (771.56 MB), is the Virtual PC 4.0 with Windows 2000 Professional CD-ROMs, compressed with zip and imaged as ".toast". The first disc contains the VPC 4.0 installer with Windows 2000 hard disk files. The second disc contains the Windows 2000 Professional extra system files (you can't install Windows 2000 from there through) and Virtual PC additions, which only readable on the PC. Also included several artwork as a bonus (serials included).

 4. The fourth download link above (623.09 KB), is a compressed StuffIt archive containing the Virtual PC 4.0.2 Update.
MD5 Checksum: 47BC8B51B465F6419724BA778BD62D36

 5. The fifth download link above (13.82 MB), is a Windows VM version of Virtual PC 4.0 for Windows x86 PC's as a zipped CD-ROM ".iso" image with included PC-DOS 2000 hard disk file.
    * Differences in the Windows version from the Mac version of Virtual PC 4.0x:
      * It virtualizes PC hardware to run virtual x86 machines on a host Windows PC computer.
      * Use this if you want to try installing Rhapsody on Virtual PC 4.0 as the current Virtual PC doesn't run Rhapsody.
 6. The sixth download link above (2.29 MB), is a beta Mac OS X version of VPC 4 for PPC Macintosh computers.

 7. The seventh download link above (444.64 MB), is Virtual PC 4 with Windows 98SE for installing to PPC Macintosh computers.

Additionally:

> Installing and configuring Windows is usually a tedious and
> frustrating process. I've tried to make it easy by including various
> Windows boot floppy images in Macintosh DiskCopy format. You can
> simply drag these onto the Virtual PC "eject floppy" button, and
> Virtual PC will use (and boot from) them.

Note: Virtual PC 4.x lacks support for 3D cards. This means you would
be unable to play 3D games requiring GL graphic support with this
version.

Compatibility
Architecture: PPC PPC (Carbonized) x86 (Windows)

Incompatible with SheepShaver because it lacks MMU (it shows an error
message and broken graphics). You can try running it on QEMU
[experimental], however don't expect you can get the maximum
performance (compared when running via qemu-system-i386).

The OS X component (6th DL above) is for very early versions of Mac OS
X, circa 2001 and is a BETA.
This may be unstable. Use with caution.
