The infamous commercial PlayStation emulator for Mac OS 9! Pretty
decent compatibility. Lived a short life, as Sony and their team of
lawyers moved in quickly to kill this, and in the end, bought the
program from a financially exhausted Connectix, and locked it away in
a vault. Sad story, really.

DL#1: The first download is a PC/Mac hybrid CD image (see also the
alternative download link below).

[Download from MediaFire][1]

Note: The Mediafire DL is of a 42.3 MB zipped .toast archive. [This is Version 1.41][2] (September 15, 2000). It's an original full PC/Mac hybrid CD image. Unzip and rename the ".toast" suffix to ".iso" to burn and access on a PC (discard and ignore the "_MacOSX" folder extracted from the zip file, this was zipped on an OS X machine and there's some artifacts left behind).

The user manual is located on the PC side of the .toast DL (didn't see
one on the Mac side) so I have added it above; it's for both Mac & PC
versions.

DL#2: This is a disk image containing an image of the VGS 1.1 CD and
various updaters, cracks and patches. Also included is the PSX
MagiKard utility for editing VGS save files.

DL#3: Spyro The Dragon is an excellent example game disc which this
emulator plays.
This is a fresh scan of SkyCapt's OEM 1998 disc. It cannot be
virtually mounted, it must be burned to disc and run on a "chip mod"
patched version of this emulator. Spyro pushes the hardware capability
of PS1 to its limit, is all-ages family fun, and has cheat codes plus
a hidden demo for "Crash Bandicoot: Warped". Its awesome in-game
soundtrack was composed by Stewart Copeland, drummer for "The Police".

DL#4: Frozen Game is a utility for CVGS that allows you to save and
load game states from anywhere. Here is the registration information:

Name: KIRI
Code: 1OTXZZAHINOV

DL#5: is the Sony Playstation Demo CD with various game demos.
The bin/cue file is best burned to CD with IMGBurn for Windows

Compatibility
Architecture: PPC

 * CVGS for Macintosh ? System Requirements:
   * Mac OS 8 or higher
   * Factory original G3 or G4 processor (300 MHz or higher recommended) ? Not compatible with G3/G4 upgrade cards
   * 10 MB RAM
   * 3.5 MB hard disk space (5 MB recommended)
   * Apple CD-ROM or DVD-ROM/RAM drive with Apple drivers

Works only under a native classic Mac OS, on G3 and G4 Macs. Not
compatible with OS X. I will eat my hat if this works in an emulator.

Additionally:
Q: Are there any Apple "Factory Original" G3s that are not compatible
with CVGS?
A: There are two PowerBook G3 models that are not CVGS-compatible:

1: PowerBook G3 introduced in October 1997 (PowerBook 3400 form
factor)
* Family Number M3553
* Gestalt 313

2: PowerBook G3 233 Mhz model, 12.1" PASSIVE Matrix model introduced
May 1998
* Family Number M4753
* Gestalt 314
