CodeWarrior Development Studio for Mac OS v9 targets Mac OS X
(Mach-O), Mac OS PPC (PEF) and Win32 (the last version to do so)
Description
CodeWarrior Development Studio for Mac OS v9 unleashes your
imagination to develop C, C++, and Objective-C applications faster
than ever. Version 9 includes a broad array of features that enhance
productivity and shorten development cycles:
Only CodeWarrior tools have PowerPlant? ? the most popular C++
framework for Mac OS development. Version 9 now also includes
PowerPlant X framework for Mach-O development, which allows developers
to write native Mac OS X code using Mac OS X supported features.
These tools feature the fastest compiler and build system available
for the Mac platform, with enhanced code generation and build speed
improvements in this version.
The debugger includes a new breakpoints view window, profile
information viewer and trace view window.
The IDE project window now includes a new tab for creating application
packages that enables arbitrary user-specific layout, and allows drag-
and-drop copying of any file or folder to the package.
Version 9 expands support for Objective-C: code completion, syntax
coloring, search comments and more.
Updates
The CodeWarrior 9.6 update is the latest and includes compatibility
with OS X 10.4.
Renewing trial
CodeWarrior 9 will activate a 15-day trial, after this expires the
number of files in a project is limited. To restart the trial period:
1. Replace license.dat (located in Metrowerks CodeWarrior 9.0/Metrowerks CodeWarrior) with the original file from the installation disc.
2. Open /Library/Application Support/.fiplrc and remove the line corresponding to your CodeWarrior version ("Pro 9.0"). Alternately, just remove the file if there's only one line in it.
3. Start CodeWarrior and click "Register Later" to get another 15 days! You will need to quit and re-launch CodeWarrior for the new license to take effect.
The 4th download contains a replacement license.dat file that is
supposed to enable unlimited IDE, MacOS, MacOSX and Win32 options. I
have not tested it except to note that it causes the notification
about a trial version to disappear.
The 5th download was sourced from the "CW Reference 9.0" disc image
found in this page, and contains the latest known Mac OS version for
the CW debugger extension tool "MetroNub". This is required e.g. to
debug CW DevStudio 9 applications from within CW Pro 8.3 in Mac OS 9
(natively or via Classic). Easy instructions are included. This
extension might quite possibly also work with even older versions of
CodeWarrior (Pro 7, Pro 6, Pro 5...), but that was not tested. (The
one that came with Pro 8 DOES work with Pro 7 ~ 5, at least.)
