ClearDock removes the semi-transparent white background from the Dock
so the Dock icons are "floating" on top of your desktop picture.
Alternatively, you can specify the color and opacity of the Dock
background and application triangles to suit your tastes. ClearDock
works in Mac OS X 10.2, Mac OS X 10.3 and Mac OS X 10.4.

As opposed to other solutions for changing the Dock background,
ClearDock never actually touches any files on disk so you don't have
to worry about your system installation being broken after a system
update. And best of all, it's completely free!

Requires [Application Enhancer][1] to be installed.
