Claris Emailer was the best email program for Mac OS back in the day,
and it remains a perfectly viable option today for those who still use
POP email, which is most of us. Originally developed by Fog City
Software, it was purchased by Apple's Claris division, which then took
over development and marketing, until Apple abandoned the business
productivity market in January of 1998, after shipping this last
version the day before that.

While you can still get Claris Emailer lite 1.1 for free, it's not a
robust as this last version, nor is it Y2K compliant.

 * DL #1:This archive includes Claris Emailer 2.0v3 U.S., which seems
   to require no registration key (although it does point you to your
   registration card for it, so if you have one, use it); a Claris
   Emailer 2.0v3 U.S. updater (for those updating from 2.0v2); a
   Getting Started PDF; a User Guide PDF; a folder of assorted
   AppleScripts you may wish to use with Emailer; and a folder of
   modifications to the Emailer application that you may find a use
   for.
   * Note: The installer in DL #1 may cause an error and fail to install: Error message:
An unexpected error occurred while installing. "Mark as read" file not
found.
If this occurs, then try installing either DL #2, or DL #3, as these
install without error.

 * DL #2: Full Claris Emailer 2.0 installer as original Disk Copy 6
   floppy disk images plus user documentation (PDFs), and updaters
   2.0v2 and 2.0v3. The 2.0v2 updater is optional, as the 2.0v3
   updater will update version 2.0 (aka version 2.0v1). The version
   2.0v2 updater however includes some updated files which are not
   included with the 2.0v3 update. These may not be essential for the
   general running of Emailer 2, but the 2.0v2 update is included
   here, just in case it's needed.
When asked to personalize Emailer on its first launch, enter a name,
the serial field is optional not required, leave as is and click OK to
launch.

 * DL #3: Claris Emailer 2.0v3 - preinstalled copy in a mountable
   Disk Copy 6 img file. This copy, although preinstalled, has not
   been user modified and will ask to be personalized on first use.
   The serial field is optional, not required, so leave as is and
   click OK to launch.
