ClamAV is an extremely advanced command-line driven antivirus for UNIX
based systems, and ClamXav is a port for Mac OS X, complete with GUI
interface. One of the best antivirus for OS X.
First download is the latest non-commercial version, v2.7.5, for Snow
Leopard (10.6) and up (pure Intel binary).
Second download is the latest PPC-compatible version, v2.5.1, and
requires at least Leopard (10.5)
Third download is the latest version compatible with Tiger (10.4),
v2.2.1.
Fourth download is compatible with Panther (10.3), v1.1.1.
Fifth download is compatible with Jaguar (10.2), v0.8.7c.
Although newer versions of the front end won't work on anything beyond
their minimal requirements (obviously), you can actually compile and
use a newer version of the Clam scanning engine with the older front
ends (helpful for PowerPC users). Furthermore, their certificates are
still updated regularly. Information on properly updating OS X
Server's built-in Clam engine can be found [here][1].
Note that the latest version of ClamXav is now proprietary. If you
have anything beyond Snow Leopard (10.6), please purchase the latest
version [here][2]. Thank you.
