Born Again is a utility that allows one to install Mac OS 8 or Mac OS
8.1 onto a 68030-based Macintosh.. It comes in three varieties: Trial,
Basic and Pro (aka Deluxe).
Following the introduction of Mac OS 8, Apple dropped support for
68030 models. Born Again permits these legacy computers to use Mac OS
8 and/or Mac OS 8.1.
By using Born Again, the user can take advantage of several key
features, like:
* Read & write HFS+ disks
* Multi-threaded Finder
* Platinum Appearance
* Improved Finder Views
* Contextual Menus
* Finder Pop-up Windows
* Setup Assistants
* Spring-loaded Folders
* Open Transport 1.3.1
Born Again 1.0 was originally distributed as Shareware and is limited
to three uses per machine. Download #2 is a timed, 30-day trial
version 1.1; you must set your clock back before opening the archive
in order to use it.
