AppleScript, prior to its bundling in with Macintosh System Software
7.5 and later, was for a brief period sold as a separate product. This
is version 1.1 from the original boxed set of install disks comprising
of five 800k floppy disk images in Disk Copy 4.2 format and compressed
using StuffIt version 3.6 as a ".sit" archive.
Bundled in with this install set, is [Digital Technology
International's][1] FaceSpan version 1.0.1, which may be used for
creating sophisticated standalone AppleScript classic applications.
Original hardcopy AppleScript Guide editions included in with the
boxed install set, as PDF manuals.
? two are 1996 re-prints, but otherwise they are identical to the 1994
distribution:

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k
Runs under SSW 7.1 or newer.
For Macintosh Systems 7.5 and later, there is little point installing
this (as newer AppleScript System Extensions and Script Editor get
installed during a System install with 7.5 and beyond).
However, this install set carries a few additional items perhaps of
interest. Such as The Scriptable Text Editor and several AppleScript
demo apps that you don't get elsewhere.
There's no need to run the installer to get them either, just mount
the install set and rummage around. (The Scriptable Text Editor runs
fine under newer AppleScript versions and on Mac OS's through to
9.2.2)
On System's 7.1 to 7.1.2 the current Finder is replaced by the
included Scriptable Finder 7.1.3 during installation, if it or a newer
Finder is not already present.
