This is Apple Legacy Recovery disc dated October 1999. This CD
includes most items designed for classic Macintosh computers such as
Mac OS, A/UX software, peripherals, and applications. It also includes
the software for Apple II, Apple Lisa, Apple Newton, drivers for
DOS/Windows, and more.
This disc has the bootable volume, Mac OS 7.6.1, and works fine for
most 680x0 Macintoshes and early Power Macintosh computers as well for
the Mac OS emulators.

Notes about the downloads available from above:

 1. DL #1: Bootable Apple Legacy Recovery CD image as ".iso" in a ".zip" archive, Burnable in PC or Mac. May be added to Basilisk II or SheepShaver's GUI as either a bootable or secondary volume. This image is not usable as a drop-in disc for Mini vMac. If extracted in a classic Mac OS, this image will mount via Toast only.

 2. DL #2: Bootable Apple Legacy Recovery CD image as ".iso" in a StuffIt 3.6 ".sit" archive. Double-click mountable in classic Mac Systems if the [Virtual CD/DVD Utility][1] is present. May also be used as a drop-in disk with Mini vMac or added to an emulator's GUI as either a bootable or secondary volume.

 3. DL #3: 1998 Bootable (7.6.1 in a "hidden" folder - search for "Finder") Apple Legacy Recovery CD image as ".iso", Burnable in PC or Mac. May be added to Basilisk II or SheepShaver's GUI as either a bootable or secondary volume. This image is not usable as a drop-in disc for Mini vMac. If extracted in a classic Mac OS, this image can be mounted by Toast. This image was created from an self mounting Disk Copy image on Archive.org. The original file was slightly suspect and the .bin wrapper wouldn't extract properly in Stuffit Extractor. Additionally, the boot drivers etc will have been stripped by the archiver using the .smi format. The disk has been made bootable again using Toast and Apple CD-ROM Driver 5.3.1 (the version which works with non-apple CD-ROM drives. It is possible that this CD is not as universally bootable as the original was, but it should boot most machines. This image has not been fully tested prior to upload.

 4. DL #4: DiskTracker catalog for this CD-ROM.

 5. DL #5 & #6: Here are two fresh rips of the Apple Legacy Software Recovery CD! These have dates on their labels of November 1999 and February 2000 and have orange Apple logos on the disc. These were ripped with ImgBurn from my original CDs. Their MD5 hash is identical, and so are the disc images, but they are preserved here in case the other disc images on this page give you trouble. The About file on these discs have a date of May 1999, while the last modified date of the folders have a date of October 1999.
