3D Windows is a system extension that adds a very gentle shade of
gray/blue to sections of all windows and modal dialogs, supposedly
giving them a '3D' look, while also replacing some stock system icons
with colorized and shaded ones. (It also introduces a shareware nag
alert upon system start.)
There may be other undocumented effects that are too minute to
immediately notice.
