No.

President Joe Biden visited Wisconsin on Jan. 25, 2024, to tout $1 billion his administration allocated to replace the John A. Blatnik Bridge.

The 1.5-mile bridge, built in 1961, runs over a Lake Superior tributary and connects the port cities of Superior, Wisconsin, and Duluth, Minnesota.

Three days before Biden’s visit, the states’ governors announced they would receive the U.S. Transportation Department money for the work.

The $1 billion is part of nearly $5 billion in funding for 37 transportation projects around the U.S. that Biden announced.

The money is from the Biden-led 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law.

The law includes $1.2 trillion in new and previously approved spending and adds $256 billion to the federal deficit, according to the nonpartisan Taxpayers for Common Sense.
