It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Workshop for Black entrepreneurs: Monday, Jan. 23

MKE Black, The Pink Hustle and Fresh Coast Labs have organized “Pitch Black,” a workshop to provide experience, networking and community between Black entrepreneurs. The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23 at Sherman Phoenix, located 3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave. Tickets cost $12.

The Milwaukee Public Library wants to know what brings you to your neighborhood library and what you would like to see in the future. City Librarian Joan Johnson will lead a discussion on the topic from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23 at the Martin Luther King Branch, located at 310 W. Locust St.

Latino Arts Inc. managing artistic director Jacobo Lovo leads a tour of the gallery’s current exhibit “Between Yesterday and Where – The Magic of Macondo.” The exhibit explores the genre of magical realism and themes of identity in physical and figurative spaces. The tour runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 at Latino Arts, located at 1028 S. 9th St. Tickets are $5 and include coffee and churros.

People with disabilities, family members or people serving people with disabilities are invited to this lunch and conversation about available resources and information. The lunch takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Wisconsin African American Women’s Center, located at 3020 W. Vliet St. You can register by clicking here.

5. Learn about birth workers and doulas: Thursday, Jan. 26

Learn more about birth workers, doulas, doula training and ways to improve birth outcomes at this dinner organized by the African American Breastfeeding Network’s WeRISE Community Doula Program. The dinner runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Sojourner Family Peace Center, located at 619 W. Walnut St. Dinner and child care provided.
