Achieving Sustainable Pandemic Preparedness by Design: The mRNA Tech Transfer Programme [1]

This high-level virtual event, held on the margins of the G20 Health Working Group meeting, will convene senior government officials, scientific leaders, civil society representatives, and donors for dialogue and renewed engagement on global solidarity in the context of pandemic preparedness.
This virtual session will highlight the mRNA Technology Transfer Programme, with speakers will presenting progress since its launch in 2021, outlining next steps and reaffirming commitments from global partners.
Participants will hear from global and regional leaders on the evolving role of mRNA technology in strengthening pandemic preparedness and promoting equitable access to health innovations.

The event is hosted by the Government of South Africa, its Department of Science and Technology, the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), Afrigen Biologics, Biovac, the Medicines Patent Pool, and WHO.
