Launch of WHO global technical consultation report on proposed terminology for pathogens that transmit through the air [1]

Background
Terminology used to describe the transmission of pathogens through the air has varied across scientific disciplines, organizations and the general public. To address this situation and agree on shared language, a global technical consultation gathered input from experts across a range of disciplines and major public health agencies and resulted in a report with updated terminology to describe the transmission of pathogens through the air that can cause infection in humans.
Objectives of the webinar are to:
- Describe the updated terminology and the consultation process- Outline next steps- Answer technical questions regarding the updated terminology and the consultation process
The event will be hosted by the WHO Chief Scientist, with inputs from Directors Generals and Directors of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Co-Chairs of the Technical Consultation Group.
The webinar will be held in English.
