This webinar unveils a training course that was developed to teach health workers how to manage key respiratory medical equipment safely following the medical device life-cycle at the health facility (7 steps). The multimedia course is targeted toward health workers who may have to manage new respiratory devices; these may include clinicians in some settings or maybe dedicated biomedical staff in other settings. The equipment focused on in this course are:
Oxygen concentrator
Oxygen cylinder
Pulse oximeter
High-flow nasal cannula
CPAP and BiPAP
Patient monitor
Mechanical ventilator
Lifecycle of medical equipment at the health facility.

WHO Resolution
In 2023 a new resolution to improve access of oxygen was adopted. The resolution is available in the following link: Increasing access to medical oxygen. OpenWHO OpenWHO is WHO’s interactive, web-based, knowledge-transfer platform offering online courses to improve the response to health emergencies. OpenWHO enables the Organization and its key partners to transfer life-saving knowledge to large numbers of frontline responders.
