Global Network of Heads of Road Safety Agencies Meeting 2023 [1]

The Global Network of Heads of Road Safety Agencies meeting will be held on 28-29 June 2023 at the Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm, Sweden.

In a first-of its kind global gathering of road safety leaders, representatives from nearly 100 countries, as well as from the United Nations, civil society, academia and other stakeholder organizations from around the world will attend.

Held following the International Vision Zero Conference hosted by the Swedish government, the meeting aims to aid countries in implementing their road safety strategies in line with the Global Plan of Action for the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030.

About the Global Network of Heads of Road Safety Agencies

The global network brings together national road safety leaders that are responsible for implementing the United Nations Decade of Action for Global Road Safety 2021-2030.

Launched following the United Nations High-Level Political Declaration on Global Road Safety in 2022, it aims to aid countries to reduce road crash deaths and injuries in line with the global goal of halving these tragedies by 2030.

Meeting this ambitious target requires a holistic, long-term effort across governments and societies. Everyone has a role to play in strengthening road safety, but governments bear the main responsibility of ensuring safe mobility for all citizens. Governments must adopt safe mobility as a core value, and must set up and maintain the broad and inclusive coordination mechanisms needed to ensure safe transport systems.

The Network aids governments and partners in establishing the policies, coordination systems and actions needed to ensure safe mobility for everyone. It fosters collaboration and learning, seeks to provide technical and financial support, and monitors progress against the Global Plan.
