Early voting started on March 15 on four potential amendments to the state constitution that, taken together, would expand the power of the state legislature in the criminal legal system and dramatically overhaul the state’s tax law.

The four proposed amendments were drafted last November during a special session called by Gov. Jeff Landry to address fiscal matters as well as “crimes that are not subject to special juvenile procedures.”
