Alex Galbraith joins Verite News as audience engagement specialist [1]

Verite News is pleased to announce that Alex Galbraith has joined the Verite News team as Audience Engagement Specialist.

In this role, Galbraith will work directly with journalists, editors and readers to ensure Verite News’ journalism reaches all communities and social media platforms.

“Alex is a curious and flexible journalist who understands the culture and nuance of communities in New Orleans, which will go a long way in helping us grow our audience,” said Editor-in-Chief Terry Baquet.

Born in Saint Augustine, Florida, Galbraith graduated from Flagler College in 2012, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Alex comes to Verite News after more than two years as Orlando Weekly’s digital editor. A former writer and editor for Complex and The Messenger, Galbraith has always worked at the intersection of news creation and audience outreach.



“Strong journalism that uplifts and informs a community doesn’t amount to much if no one gets to read it,” said Galbraith. “I’m looking forward to finding new and exciting ways to expand the reach of Verite News as it becomes a key player in holding power to account in New Orleans.”
