Assistant Secretary Kritenbrink’s Trilateral Meeting with Counterparts from the Republic of Korea and Japan Concerning Developments in the DPRK [1]
[]
Date: 2024-12
The three sides shared the view that the deepening military cooperation between the DPRK and Russia, as well as developments in the DPRK’s unlawful weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs, are deeply destabilizing and pose a grave threat to regional and global security. They also discussed progress on initiatives to further trilateral cooperation to disrupt the DPRK’s malicious cyber activities, including illicit cyber-enabled revenue generation, and followed up on the outcomes of the Trilateral Diplomatic Working Group on DPRK Cyber Threats. The United States, ROK, and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to jointly seeking the urgent return of abductees, detainees, and unrepatriated POWs, and promoting respect for human rights in the DPRK.
