As a Senior lecturer / Lecturer, you will work closely with colleagues across the School and larger University academic community in the area of electrical power and renewable energy and be a member of the School of Engineering’s Centre for Smart Power and Energy Research (CSPER).
Our industry connections, work placements and career-shaping experiences enable our students to become forward thinking and ready to tackle real-world engineering challenges. We are also significant leaders in a number of engineering research areas including water engineering, design engineering and power engineering.
Your key responsibilities will include, and not limited to:
Making a significant contribution within their specific areas of research, scholarship or creative activity.
Designing and implementing best practice assessment and evidence of student learning outcomes at Unit and Course level, and leading assessment panels.
Demonstrating the ability to be able to undertake excellent scholarly learning and teaching across all levels and modes (including for example in the cloud) with an emerging reputation at the national level.
Making a contribution to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards, and the development of course and unit curriculum that exemplifies Deakin’s curriculum framework and meets external requirements such as the Higher Education Standards Framework and professional accreditation.
Demonstrated ability to be able to research and publish in learning and teaching, including testing the effectiveness of innovations designed to improve student and graduate outcomes including graduate employment.
To be successful, you’ll have:
PhD in electrical engineering or related area and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area.
Demonstrable potential for scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision.
Ability to positively engage with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline.
Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
Capacity and passion for leadership of teaching, research and/or administration.
