An exciting opportunity exists for a manager in training delivery to drive the evolution and growth of this area of our business and support the delivery of a critical component of our strategic plan.
Reporting directly to our Head of Training & Workforce Development, the Manager, Training Development and Delivery will be responsible for supporting the Head to set the vision, strategy, planning and delivery of the Training function.
The position will lead improvements in the digital space related to training and in our use of data, information and analytics. A critical component of the role will be designing and implementing improvements to our processes and workflow and building a high-performing, client centred training function.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and delivering training strategy & improvement
Liaise with senior stakeholders and others within Phoenix Australia to develop a collaborative approach to enhance its training and workforce development programs.
Provide support to the Head of Training & Workforce Development in setting the vision, strategy and plan for the Training function.
Under the direction of the Head of Training & Workforce Development develop, support and implement Phoenix Australia’s training and workforce development strategy, including market and business development analysis, planning and execution
Lead the identification and implementation of improvements in our training workflow, processes and systems to ensure high quality internal processes and outputs within the area of training and workforce development.
Lead improvements to the design and implementation of our digital approach to training –booking, delivery platforms, client engagement etc. This includes advances in the use of our CRM (customer relationship management) solution.
Lead improvements to the management of training data, information and analytics – strategy, design and delivery of initiatives.
Support the development of comprehensive customer journeys and training pathways for clients.
Actively contribute to the overall leadership and strategic goals of Phoenix Australia.
Build a network of stakeholder relations relative to the position eg, with potential clients, venues, suppliers, technology organisations etc.
Organising and managing training
Lead the organisation of the training function from business development, to delivery through to post-delivery follow-up.
Plan, organise and maintain the schedule of training activities, including the allocation of training staff to training activities, and the management and assignment of contractors to training and workforce development activities.
Lead the operations and growth of the training and workforce development area, including internal staffing and resource processes, financials, outputs and reports.
Support business development work within training and workforce development, including market / competitor analysis, proposal development and content development.
Provide input and support the planning and implementation of marketing and communications activities within training and workforce development.
Support the evaluation of the training, workforce development and knowledge transfer activities and help identify initiatives from the identified gaps.
Work collaboratively with other Professional Staff, including financial, IT, and marketing and communications staff to ensure the success of training and workforce development activities.
Oversee the work of the training and workforce administrative staff as required
Other
Actively contribute to operational planning, monitoring of progress and development of any relevant operational policy and procedures.
Undertake staff supervision – probation, performance management, career development, coaching, professional development, HR processes, etc. as required.
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities as outlined in section 5.
Selection Criteria
A relevant degree and substantial relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
At least five years’ experience in a training-related role, with a passion for training, education and workforce development, and working for a values-based organisation
Proven ability to take initiative and design creative solutions that improve operations or address institutional issues.
Knowledge of technology and the digital environment to help advance training and workforce development.
Demonstrated leadership in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of education and training strategies, plans and activities.
Demonstrable project management skills and the ability to multitask and deliver complex projects on time and budget.
Evidence of strong management and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a team with a diverse skill set, influence staff culture, and encourage a commitment to a code of ethics.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and work collaboratively with different functional units across an organisation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
