ABBOTT SENDS MORE HURRICANE AID TO LOUISIANA

Gov. Greg Abbott announced Wednesday that Texas would send additional resources to Louisiana to aid in recovery efforts after the state was hit by Hurricane Ida.



The state will send 116 members of the National Guard, 25 high-water vehicles, and seven Humvees to the state, as well as resources to deal with fire suppression through Texas A&M Forest Service. "Texas remembers the generous support offered by Louisianans during Hurricane Harvey four years ago, and we have recognized their need for additional help as they recover from the destruction of Hurricane Ida earlier this week," Abbott said in a statement. "We will continue to help our neighbors in need, just as they did for us." — James Barragán
