Stepping back from the brink in a major move to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine - Russia announces it's withdrawing troops from its border as military drills there wrap up. The pull-out flies in the face of hyped-up Western predictions of an imminent Russian invasion. Despite Moscow's announcements, NATO's chief says he isn't seeing any signs of de-escalation on the ground, while claiming everything is still in place for a Russian attack. The Canadian Prime Minister triggers a never-before used Emergencies Act granting his government extra powers in response to a truckers' protest. It's created concern among provincial chiefs, who question the measure's point and legitimacy. After a week of pressure and uncertainty over doping allegations - Russian figure-skating star Kamila Valieva is in first place, in the singles competition at the Winter Olympics.
