A Russian plane that had been launching guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian-controlled territory has crashed in Donetsk Oblast after being shot down by Russian troops.

Details: Ukrainian and Russian media and bloggers began writing about the downing of the aircraft in Donetsk Oblast on the afternoon of 5 October.

A video posted online shows air defence systems responding and a fire being extinguished after a plane crash, but whether it was the same plane is unknown.
The source reports that the Russians themselves shot down the aircraft as a result of friendly fire.
