Iran has been in the throes of nationwide anti-government protests since the September 16, 2022 killing of 22-year-old Mahsa Jina Amini for improper hijab. For the first time since the uprisings began, eight of the Iranian democracy movement’s prominent diaspora leaders will share the stage to talk about the continued viability of the movement, their common vision for Iran’s future, and how democratic change in Iran can change the world.

از ۲۵ شهریور ۱۴۰۱ و کشته شدن مهسا (ژینا) امینی ۲۲ ساله به علت حجاب، ایران شاهد خیزش سراسری علیه نظام جمهوری اسلامی بوده است. برای اولین بار پس از آغاز این خیزش مردمی، هشت تن از چهره‌های کلیدی و مطرح جنبش دموکراسی خواهی ایرانیان در یک نشست حاضر می شوند تا درباره تداوم و پویایی جنبش، دیدگاه‌های مشترکشان درباره آینده ایران، و تاثیرات جهانی تغییر دموکراتیک در ایران صحبت کنند.
این برنامه به میزبانی مشترک دانشکده روابط بین‌الملل و انجمن فرهنگ ایرانی دانشگاه جورج تاون برگزار می‌شود.
