Scripps Howard Journalism Awards, Four Finalists [1]

Four ProPublica projects are finalists for the 71st Scripps Howard Journalism Awards.

“With Every Breath: Millions of Breathing Machines. One Dangerous Defect,” in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, was named a finalist in the excellence in business/financial reporting category.

“Roots of an Outbreak” and “Thirsty Valley,” a Local Reporting Network project in collaboration with The Desert Sun, are both finalists in the Excellence in Innovation award, honoring Roy W. Howard.

“Friends of the Court” is a finalist for the Ursula and Gilbert Farfel Prize, which honors excellence in national/international investigative reporting.
