Ukraine started negotiations with Canada on a bilateral agreement on security guarantees — Official website of the President of Ukraine [1]

Date: 2023-08
On the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, negotiations with Canada on a bilateral agreement on providing Ukraine with security guarantees, as envisaged by the Joint Declaration of Support for our country, have begun. The negotiations are coordinated by Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak. The first round of negotiations was held by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva.
Canada became the third country of the G7 with which Ukraine started negotiations after the United States and the United Kingdom, and continued the positive dynamics of implementing the security agreements reached by our country with key international partners.
The bilateral security guarantees that Ukraine must receive now will make our country more secure even before it becomes a full member of NATO. Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak said earlier: "Security guarantees for Ukraine must be effective and serve as a transitional stage on our country's path to membership in the Alliance, the only most reliable security guarantee today."
