The Santa Fe New Mexican, the locally owned source of daily news, is seeking a Director of Finance who goes beyond accounting and bookkeeping to provide strategic financial acumen. It’s more than numbers. This role involves managing the accounting department, ensuring that financial policies are followed and identifying and implementing budget and strategies that support the financial goals and health of the company.

Education and skills needed :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience.

Team leadership, critical thinking and inter-departmental communication and cooperation skills.

Key Qualities :

High integrity and ethical standards.

Ability to work independently, meeting goals and evaluating benchmarks.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Able to identify, define and present changes that streamline or improve processes and results.

This is a full-time career position, located in our offices in downtown Santa Fe. In this role the Financial Director will report to the Publisher.
